Chad Kouri, Rod Hunting, Ryan Duggan, Sonnenzimmer and me are painting a mural in Wicker Park.
This is it after this weekend, two more colors to go:
“In an increasingly paranoid state of humanity, with bills needing to be paid, unsuitability of jobs and mouths to feed, people more and more often need to be reminded to take a break. Taking the time to be creative and make something...

This video is an attempt to catch the feeling of our mobile generation. It’s about movement, uncertainty, restlessness, arrival, diversity, …, temporary home.
I made it for my final presentation at university.

My first video. I made it last semester for university. It’s about an exhibition Rod Hunting and I had in Dresden, Germany. We showed work in an old hotel. Make sure to check out Rod’s blog as well.

Home is wherever I am
I made a little zine:
In todays world it becomes a new issue to figure out where we come from. Not only in a place like the United States, where everyone is basically from another country, but also in Eastern European countries. This question arose due to fortunate political changes. Friends live scattered around the world and we visit them and we welcome visits. We make friends and build...
Thank you everyone for joining Rod and me at “Long Distance Creation Call” last Friday! We had a great time!

Viktor Timofeev is from Riga, Latvia. He studied in New York. Now he lives and works in Berlin Neukölln. I met him in his apartment/ works space to talk about where he really comes from and where he is going. Viktor Timofeev is a painter. His work is filled with amazing details from everyday life surrounded by architectural shapes, patterns and perspectives packed in great three-dimensionality....

These three circles are the result of a collaboration with Chicago based photographer Leo Rosen. Each one has a diameter of 2 feet (about 0.6 m) and is resin coated.

I screen printed some 13” x 13” pillows. They are for sale at Post 27 in Chicago and online.
Last week I spend with Sonnenzimmer, a screenprinting studio in Chicago. I worked with Nick and Nadine on some projects, we bound books, organized, talked, ate good food and I got to use their autopress for screenprinting. Nick and Nadine are great people and their work is beautiful. When they don’t print they paint, make books and music. Make sure to check it all out...

Letterpress project “slow is splendid” in collaboration with Letterform. In the manner of exquisite corpse each one of us added to a composition in sequence. The only rules were to not look at what the previous collaborator had printed, only alter the color by adding ink to the existing color, and complete the project within 24 hours.

My “Pretty Good” poster at the Printervention show last weekend. More photos of the show here.
Beautiful video installation produced by Gus Gavino for THE FOLLOWING OF ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER show at The Family Room in Chicago. It incorporates some of my early screenprints involving texture, shape and space.
Thank you everyone for joining us at Friday’s show opening at The Family Room. THE FOLLOWING OF ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER was a successful event and I had a lot of fun. Special Thanks to INDO, Letterform, Gus and the Zauberpuppets for the collaborative work and support. The show will be up for the rest of April.
Rachel-Leigh Gropper documented the install. See more photos.

Printervention // Printing for the Public
Following the success of last years’ Version Festival program: the Bridgeport WPA pilot project, we have asked artists from around the country to create works that raise awareness of social and political issues of our day. Printervention debuts April 16, 2010 at the The Chicago Tourism Center Gallery and continues through Version Festival to...

THE FOLLOWING OF ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER
I’m excited for my first show!
All the way from Dresden, Germany, Ina Weise came to Chicago eager to become what became the first intern at the design collaborative The Post Family. This opportunity rapidly evolved into a self-initiated artist residency. Over the past year Ina has created a large portfolio including screenprinted and letterpressed works, small scale sculptural objects,...
